We had a lovely day on Wednesday doing all sorts of arts and crafts and generally messing around with this enormous box I have in my cupboard from Lakeshore Learning that contains art items ad infinitum. Needlesstosay, everything but the glitter (my least fave) came out of said box and was used in some way. Here is a review in photos of what was created and will be now enjoyed by the “smallest” creatures of the house…
This is a lovely garden scene by Violet, mind you don't miss the kitty made by Matthias for perching on the side of the goldfish pond.
Matthias made snowshoes for several of Violet's little creatures. Aren't they adorable?
This is a feast created by all three: Violet, Matthias & Seamus for a Calico Critter banquet!! Click on the photo to see the details up close!
Last, but certainly not least is Seamus's "feathery" duckling!! I am so proud of their creativity!!
Meanwhile…I, on the other hand, while overseeing all these glorious creations, was serendipitiouly endeavoring to take the internet by storm and was catching up on all things 4real, as well as blog-hopping!! Next to my computer was this lovely and rare treat, thanks to Violet who in the morning said, “Mommy I think it’s a 'scone kind of morning'", and, said I, whisking out the bowl, “Go for it honey that sounds simply wonderful to me.” Little did they know I was polishing off the last of them while they slaved over their creations, but hey, it’s part of being the HM around here!
Here's some buzz:
Now then, there are things going on not to be missed! I’m sure they’ve been linked already, but I’m going to link them as well for you see they are worth the trip of admission. If you’re looking for a little more humility and sacrifice in your Lenten journey, then travel no further than the beautiful Cottage Blessings, trust me you will be blessed by their Lenten Tea. Then take a quick stop through Lapazfarm and give her the thumbs up, the layout is terrific! And if you’re pining for spring much like we still are, Lissa’s got the goods on all things butterflies with links to boot from Doc! Oh, I almost forgot that when you’re visiting Cottage Blessings don’t forget to mosey through the New Cottage Garden, it’s simply splendid, I’d love a retreat there!!
Just in case you’d ever thought of doing a retreat Cay at her Cajun Cottage talks divinely of all things well, divine!! Please browse her side bar for links and wonderful spiritual reading material, thanks for sharing your experience Cay! I hope you enjoyed this little sojourn, I’d love to chat with tea and scones, but I think after today, they will now be a sacrifice!!
Before I leave off, please check my updated 4Real Blogroll (left side-bar, scroll down a bit) and Blogs I Visit, and if you don’t see yourself there and would like for me to link to you please email me with your URL and I’d love for you to join the roll!! May God Bless you in your day!
Here's the Scone Recipe if anyone wants a rare treat in their week!

These craft projects are fantastic--and so artfully done with incredible detail. My Calico-Critter-collecting kids are going to go crazy when they see the accessories and scenes your talented children created!
Thanks for mentioning the Lenten Tea and Cottage Garden. You are, as always, too kind!

I love the crafts!Funny, I was just about to give JBug some feathers to glue onto a picture of a Cardinal! And where did you get the little animals? I used to have some when I was a kid, but have not seen them for my kids?
My son, Superboy, and I are in love with that cup and saucer set, also! Is that a dragon we spy on there?
And thanks for mentioning my new blog!(btw your sidebar link is to my old blog)

Theresa, thanks so much! Most of the little creatures are Calico Critters and yes there's a dragon, he's the "butler" I'm told! I just switched the URL on my side-bar, meant to do it last night and must have gotten pulled away!! Thanks again!
