Saint Longinus helped to crucify Jesus. He was the one who put the spear in Jesus' side. But afterward he repented to Mary and became a Christian. He gave up his soldier life and taught people about Jesus. Then he was killed for being a Christian. Before he died, Pilate (who sentenced him to death) gave him another chance, but Longinus said that the only God was Jesus. Pilate was blind, but after he had Longinus killed, he could see again and he became a Christian himself. ~ Narrated by Violet (almost 10) from More Once Upon A Time Saints by Ethel Pochocki
