Since it was 102 degrees (yes, you read that correctly, whew) we decided to take advantage of our air conditioning and do some indoor actvities this afternoon and we had a wonderfully crafty day!!
Inspired by the amazing and beautifully simple ideas at Cottage Blessings, we tried our hand at a version of Holy Water Fonts ! Since we sort of missed doing this last week for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we decided to make them universal and be able to change out the Holy Cards for the Feasts we are celebrating!! I can't thank Alice enough for her ingenuity and brilliance at making such beautiful and simple craft ideas for the Litiurgical Year, she is truly a blessing for our family as I am certainly "craft challenged".
Here are Violet's and Seamus's creations, I will add Matthias's soon, he's still perfecting his lovely piece!! Violet's (top) is a shrine with St. Margaret Mary Alacoque recieving the Sacred Heart message from Jesus and She also included an Immaculate Heart of Mary holy card, Seamus's is a beautiful font for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
These were so enjoyable to make as they were merely a matter of assembly, and so inexpensive (about $2-3/craft). If you have a JoAnn Fabricsnearby, they are having a huge sale on all their artificial/silk flowers and many other items right now, especially for the 4th!!

OK, if this is "craft challenged", then I must be seriously craft impaired!LOL! These are beautiful!

Meredith, these are so beautiful!! I have been collecting the materials to make one for our home, but have not found the time. I'm so inspired by yours, I *will find* the time! Thanks for the JoAnn's tip! :)
