Our dear Violet was recently the gracious hostess to two very special sisters we met through our new Catholic Homeschool group. They visited for a Lavender Tea party and play date. It was simply lovely and such a joy to have some new Catholic girlfriends for my Violet to get to know.
She started with a white lacy embroidered table cloth and napkins and a special tea cup for each girl. Then she carefully cut a few bunches of lavender from our very prolific lavender bush that graces our front steps.
Besides several beautiful rose bushes we have out front, the lavender is our very favorite flora at our new place!! She made dainty posies tied with ribbon and placed them at each setting,

and the rest in a vase for a showy centerpiece.
Around the vase she placed her saints statues: St. Martha, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Lucy and Our Lady of Fatima.
Amongst the saints she tucked some Flower Fairie

punch out paper dolls for an absolutely charming tea table!!

The menu consisted of store bought (and truly delicious) mini cream puffs and mini chocolate eclairs (YUM!) cucumber cream cheese petite sandwiches on white bread (no crusts) and a beautiful fresh fruit tart with raspberry preserves and whip cream!! I unfortunately didn't get a photo of this one as it was devoured before I could snap it!! Here's the recipe at Sweetness in the Kitchen!
Believe it or not the little ladies, who were dressed in their sweet Sunday dresses chose pink lemonade rather than hot tea as it was a pretty warm day. Everything was delicious (yes I sampled a little of everything :) ) and enjoyed by all. Violet was truly in her element as a very gracious hostess and had such a grand time with her new friends. The girls were excited to take home their lavender posies and placecards along with a few Flower Fairie paper dolls as well.

That is just too sweet! What a great time they must have had!
