Having finally purchased my very own laminator, no more running to the copy store and spending money on someone else's machine, not to mention the hassle of driving there to get things done. So, I am on a roll (a very slow roll) to make some Montessori materials before Seamus and his little brother hit high school! I am very intrigued with the Nomenclature Cards that are in various magazines and that Kim at Starry Sky Ranch so beautifully showcased in her Geography work with her dear children. I thought I would put some of my own resources to use and develop some for Nature Study. Using a picture book as my guide, I laminated and created a lovely set of cards on the life cycle of the Oak Tree. See what you think and try your own!!
I wrote self checking information on the back of each card, and in time Seamus will be able to read them or at least be able to check them by their numbered order. I love the clarity of the photographs in this particular book and didn't mind taking it apart, you could also do color copies for an even less expensive set of cards!!
Thanks for visiting and God's Blessings to you!

Those are great! I am busily making cards for my kids as well-biology cards, starting with invertebrate animals. I hope to eventually cover all living things, but that will take some time... I really need a laminator!I will check yours out.

Meredith,
Beautiful work! It is so nice to have a laminator. We've made numerous vintage holy cards that way!
It's a joy to visit your blog.
Blessings,
Denise

Those cards are beautiful. What a great idea! Especially purchasing your own laminator. Oh, what I wouldn't do....
