What's your favorite Teatime Treat?? I'm not talking about the luscious, and lavish teatime treats such as Alice has shared with us, although wouldn't it be wonderful to have one of her Teas each week!! I am talking about your daily, weekly, or bi-weekly teas for morning or afternoon and what you like to have as a go-along with your tea!
Ours have ranged from Animal crackers to toast with Nutella (Yum!)! We also favor Pecan Shortbread, Strawberries Devonshire, Scones, and the classic Tollhuse Chocolate Chip Cookie!! If we're having a Tea for lunch, we like Tuna or Grilled Cheese sandwiches!
So for starters, just to get ya'll thinking here:
- Do you always have Tea as your beverage? Or is it Hot Cocoa, chocolate milk, honey or vanilla milk Tea, or coffee? Or maybe Iced Tea or Lemonade?
- Do you bake for each Tea Time or keep a stash of baked goodies in the freezer?
- Do you tend towards the sweet or savory items, ie. tea sandwiches or cakes and cookies?
I can't wait to hear your Teatime favorites!! I'm looking for some inspiration and new ideas and recipes!
Also, what are you reading aloud these days during Teatime? Or do you listen to music, recite poetry, play games??? We've been on a Shakespeare Kick for Teatime this year and it has been delightful as well as entertaining! I'm looking forward to hearing about what you like to do during your Teatimes too!!
Thanks for visiting today, have a blessed day!

Ours is popcorn. I know it isn't so elegant, but it is an easy, fairly healthy but filling, snack before supper. We do always have tea - a mix of green and regular. But pecan shortbread sounds wonderful.
PS - I am working on an entry for the carnival! Thank you for hosting - I think it's something we all need.

Great question Meredith (and thank you for the kind mention!) Yes, we drink tea at teatime, although I try to serve decaf for the children.
Our favorite treats are cucumber sandwiches with butter and dill and scones with unsweetened whipped cream and raspberry jam.
An Irish friend of mine made me a believer in unsweetened whipped cream. Believe it or not, it tastes way better than sweetened, because the freshness of the cream shines through.

I'm so pleased you are still enjoying Shakespeare TeaTimes! I thought that was the neatest thing last Autumn when I noticed it in your sidebar.
Marianna and I enjoy strawberries and green tea and a specialty cookie like the Pepperidge Farms Variety box or a seasonal treat like cinnamon twists in the Fall with a mix of read alouds. Usually poetry is involved though!

What a wonderful idea (I'm thinking about the toddler carnival too)... our tea time isn't daily (we aren't routined enough for that yet), but usually includes an herbal tea, sweetened with apple juice, popcorn or some homemade treat, which was usually the result of some afternoon time spent together in the kitchen. Of course, there are always leftovers, which are great for the other days. Simple scones with jam are a favorite, as is rice crackers with cream cheese.
Cheers to you!

Hi...I was browsing the moms on the Catholic blogroll and came across your site. I just recently got a tea set and I am hoping to start a family tradition of afternoon tea! I hope you have a blessed day and I will be back to visit and read more!
