We have a few things coming up for the weekend and wanted to make sure we had a nice time to reflect on this weekends Feast of Pentecost. So what better way to ponder the Holy Spirit than with a nice steaming cup of Earl Gray and some Holy Spirit Chocolate Cupcakes!! I'm pretty sure Jesus would approve as we were inspired by the Holy Spirit to use the yellow butter cream frosting and strawberries for the "tongues of fire" to top the chocolate cupcakes (yes, there should have been 13, but alas, this is all we had in the freezer)!! If you remember we had these lovely cupcakes for Mary, just a short time ago, thus, waste-not, want-not!!
We read from our favorite Marian Picture Book by Tomie dePaola and had a lovely discussion about the tongues of fire that came upon each of the Apostles and Mary. Seamus set us straight when he mentioned that "the fire isn't the burning kind mommy!!" Oh, thank goodness, my sweet boy!! We wondered if the Disciples were perhaps afraid, but we decided that Mary kept everyone calm, just as a Mother should :)
Here's hoping your Pentecost is full of wonder and you are moved by the Holy Spirit to become "tellers of the Good News"!! May God Bless you and keep you and thanks for stopping in today!
"Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful. And enkindle in us the fire of your Love."

What a wonderful idea! Have a blessed Pentecost

Meredith, you make the feast days COME ALIVE! I love your very creative cupcakes, too! Do your children have any idea how much they are learning in these rich little sessions? Probably not, but I feel certain their lives will show it!
A Blessed Pentecost to you ALL!
