How's your eye?
Just now seeing this and can't think of any solution other than washing eye with water then putting eye drops.

I've used milk in the past, (when I got the oil on my mouth/lips) and it works great... However, I don't know how that would work, pouring it over your eye!? You poor thing! I will say a prayer that it feels better soon.

I would suggest to call your ER and ask a nurse. I hope by now you have gotten some relief!

Ouch! I've rubbed my face with my hands before--jalapeno juice just does not come off very well. I'm glad to hear your eye is better.

Ouch! Just saw this and all the follow-up. Feel better and better, dear. Aloe on your cheek perhaps?

I wish I had seen this earlier! Next time, try wet bread. Sounds gross, I know, but try it. It also works if you are canning jalapenos and your hands start burning. My mom puts a piece of wet bread in a plastic bag and puts it over her hands... works every time.

Meredith - I'm just now seeing this and wouldn't have known what to advise once the juice makes it into your eye - BUT, a tip for the next time you work with jalapeños ... the capsaicin that burns is not water soluble (as you well know) but IS fat soluble. So if you rub your hands with a combination of soap and cooking oil, then rinse under water, the capsaicin will bind to the oil and wash off. Hope that helps!

the wet bread trick seems to work. i also find that numbing the pain with an ice pack inbetween washings helps
