Just in from the very sweet and charming Mary Ellen at Tales from the Bonny Blue House...
You're coming right? Of course you are!! It's going to be great.
Michele Quigley, of The Family-Centered Life, Mater Amabilis, and The Catholic Woman's Daily Planner, is hosting what will be a fun and dynamic conference on July 26, 2008, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Alice Gunther is the featured speaker, and there will also be talks given by Margot Davidson, Meredith Henning and me (that's Mary Ellen).
There is going to be a curriculum fair with lots of great vendors. So we can shop. There is going to be food, so we can eat and I personally, will make sure there is coffee and chocolate.
How can you not come?
Lancaster is a wonderful little city. There is so much to do for the whole family. There is also Gettysburg, Hershey Park, Dutch Wonderland and Strasburg Railroad all within a stones throw. It could end up being a wonderful faith filled family weekend for your whole family. A little mother culture for mom, a little battleground fun for dad and wild, stomach churning rides for the children. You are also in the heart of Amish Country which provides so many opportunities to learn and shop!
I really hope to see you there. I would love the opportunity to meet some of the kind and lovely women who read this blog.
Ditto what she said!!!
Thanks for spreading the news Mary Ellen, I can't wait to be there with you all!!!

I used to live in Lancaster County. It is truly beautiful!
I have been considering going for some time now (Suzanne at Gladdest Hours and I have been talking about it).
Soooooo, if it works out, perhaps I'll see you there!

Not far from Hershey Park is a wonderful, old-fashioned theme park called Knoebel's (Elysburg)--no parking fee, no entrance fee (you can pay for rides with tickets or with an all-day armband--so if you're pushing a stroller and not going on rides, you're free), and you can bring in your own picnic. None of these things are true of Hershey Park. Plus the food stands have won national awards--yum! And the kiddie rides are second to none. They've called themselves "Pennsylvania's Best-Kept Secret" and I hesitate to pass this along lest it become too popular!! :)
I'm not knocking Hershey's--we went there and had a great time. But it was comparatively very expensive, and you couldn't even bring in your own water bottles. And we love the old-fashioned atmosphere at Knoebel's!
If you're making a vacation out if it with your family and want to go to an amusement park, you really should check it out here:

(This was an unsolicited endorsement. The commenter has no relationship with Knoebel's or any of its subsidiaries--if it has any!--it's just a great place to have fun, and we go almost every year!!) :)
Plus, Gettysburg is an awesome place. My sister lives there. Should I tell her you're coming? :)
I haven't decided about the conference yet, but my goodness, what's stopping me???
