Welcome to Sweetness and Light

  • Here's where you'll find a little bit of everything from this home educating Catholic wife, and mother of 4 special sweeties. We love our life of learning and living our faith everyday and hope you'll also find a bit of Sweetness & Light while you're here.

Meredith - just finished listening to your talk on CD from the FCLC and am inspired to add some more "sweetness and light" in our home as we incorporate a busy baby into the mix this year!

I'm also clicking your links these days, Meredith, looking for things to do with the under two set. Clara will go from 16-24 mo this school year.

I do make some things from Slow and Steady Get Me Ready. Here are some of the other things I have saved over the years: balls, blocks, books, simple knob puzzles, long scarf in an oatmeal box with a slit in the lid, juice can lids that go in a container with a slit, boxes with lids, stacking rings, the safe clothespins that go in an egg carton with holes, wooden nesting cups, wooden nesting boxes, jack-in-the-box, push down top, pull toy, push toy, baby dolls with cradle and high chair, hammer down the pegs, shape sorter, big polished rocks to "pling" from one metal bowl to another, etc.

She is addicted to the Baby Signing Time DVDs. The vol. 1-3 set is ordered and on it's way!

A good collection so far, but do you have any more ideas for me? Links? Hand-outs? Books?

She is my busiest little one so far. Non-stop. The kind who will toddle outside unbeknownst to me if she finds a door ajar!

I would appreciate whatever you can offer to broaden my horizons!

Thanks!

Lori

Thank you again for your contributions to the article. I really appreciate it!
