Non-Fiction Monday :: The Moon of the Deer

The Moon of the Deer by Jean Craighead George is a favorite of ours from her outstanding "Thirteen Moon Series". Jean Craighead George is a staple in our non-fiction reading as well as all of her fiction picks with her engaging writing style about all things in the natural world. Any of her books are a treat to discover!

Here is an excerpt: "The groundsel trees cracked, and the magnificient head and antlers of the old buck were thrust into view. They gleamed in the moonlight. In seeming madness, the young buck lowered his head in challenge. His little spikes shone like silver daggers..."

This non-fiction picture book post is going to add another book each week to my hold shelf. ;) We haven't yet read these so I'm looking forwrd to getting it.
