....is the one you receive from a friend!!
I received this beautiful quilt block from the very fun and loving Margaret (Minnesota Mom) and it's the 10th of my quilt blocks for the Virtual Quilting Bee we started back in January 2009. There are 16 quilt blocks total for each participant and since Violet is also part of our group the final two are my own and Violet's. That means there are only four left to receive.
I am so pleased and happy to have such lovely women sending me all their creativity and beauty in a quilt block, it will be a sad day when our VQB is finished...There have been many friendships forged and deepened with this experience, I highly recommend it :)
Hope your Saturday is going well, I'm off to declutter my school desk.
By the way, how do you de-clutter??? My method is to take EVERYTHING off the surface area I am working on and start from scratch, much easier for me to start with a clean slate and not continue the clutter by just rearraning the chaos on top of itself!
Love to hear your methods if you have a moment. Many blessings!

That's so beautiful! I love the rose color with your fabrics - what a great idea!
As for decluttering, my approach is much the same as yours. If I can take everything out of the room entirely, that's even better!

I love the browns and pinks together. When's the next VQB? MY approach to de-cluttering is much the same. It helps to start with a fresh canvas!

That is beautiful!
Like you, I like to start with a clean slate. Otherwise, I'm just adding to the pile.

I declutter (my mind) by sewing quilt blocks! :)
Thank you for your kind words. I agree wholeheartedly with what you said about the VQB. What a wonderful group of gals! The experience has been VERY good for me, as I am one who finds it hard to sit down to creativity endeavors if there is clutter about...and there is ALWAYS clutter.
At least some, anyway.
Quilting has helped me to let go and lighten up. Plus it's just so much FUN!

That should read "creative" endeavors.
Off to make more coffee!

I'm still trying to figure out how to declutter. I'm not very good at it at all. I tried the clearing everything off method but got distracted halfway through by a baby's diaper needing to be changed and came back to find stuff strewn across the floor by an energetic toddler.
I really need to declutter my sewing table so I can do more quilt block making. It's got to be a huge mess. But somehow I can't seem to get started.
I feel the same way about VQB. I can't believe we've been at it for a year now! It has been so wonderful to get to know everyone. I had no idea when Lissa first floated the concept how much I would enjoy the social aspects of it. I was thinking only of the creative sewing; but it has been so much more than that.
Oh and I just noticed the brown border in that quilt square for the first time-- love that print.

so pretty.
that margaret is awfully talented!
de-cluttering remains a mystery to me. i remove everything from the "area" that needs to be cleaned. usually forming a "pile" elsewhere. with the intention of throwing the junk out asap. i just de-cluttered our loft and formed two huge piles of stuff to go thru. i left them in the middle of the room so i would deal with it right away. and i did. trash pile. thrift store pile and voila! i was done. pre-spring cleaning feels so good.
