I love the contrast of colors against the different mediums of ground cover, water, trees, mountains, and sky. It is a fora of outstanding variety and beauty and I was so glad to see one of our favorite nature places in this season of transition.

We had a little nature outing yesterday as Spring weather prevailed (not so today, more snow...).
Alas, I love how the deer are contrasted with the telephone poles in the background. It really lends to the depth of the picture and brings the eye back and forth between the mountains behind and the deer in the forefront.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading John Stilgoe's Outside Lies Magic that Lissa mentioned in her Way Leads on to Way post a few weeks ago. I definately have a different perspective when it comes to noticing things in our everyday encounters!

I set up a little prepared Cocoa station for the children to help themselves upon waking this morning, I think we'll make this a tradition (at least unil it warms up a bit around here).
We affectionately call this the "Junco Tree" although it's actually a Lilac Bush. Aren't they all just adorable!

Well, I couldn't resist playing along with Jennifer's great April Showers of Photos!! Here's what she says about it:
Goaded on by the fabulous Amanda Soule and her 30 Days of the Everyday photography fun and the take off that wonderfully inspiring people like Jane at POSY and her From Now to the End of March photolog or the Noticing Project photo a day by Alicia and Heather but mostly do to my in real life inspiration by a photojournalist friend whose book Warriors: A Parris Island Photo Journal I find heartrending and, (of course!), my own dear husband who gave me my incredible camera in the first place and whose own photographs I have always loved, I'm setting up a month-long project for myself. I have everything set up, ready to go, and I'm super excited about it!
I'm a few days late, but here's my entry for today. As you know we've had ALOT of snow this year, but our Snow Grotto has finally melted away and revealed some precious earth and the first lovely shoots of tulips for Our Lady!
The ground is still so squishy and soft, but it is a joy to see these little shoots working their way up and out!
