We love to decorate our fireplace mantle for Mary in May. We were also blessed to be able to attend Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima earlier this week and the gospel reading included Mary's beautiful Magnificat!
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

We had a lovely and busy Feast of Our Lady of Fatima! Mass in the morning, followed by daily lessons, music practices, lunch and of course teatime :)
Or Dancing Sun project was a work in progress throughout the day as we had painting and drying and gluing and cutting, which was all very well and fine and enjoyable for all, but you'll have to wait for the completed projects tomorrow as we wanted them to be completely dry before hangind them up...
We are reading aloud the beautiful rendition of Our Lady's apperances at Fatima from the Mary Fabian Windeatt book The Children of Fatima, these are the best Saint stories :)

The Memorare is an age-old prayer to Our Lady and a plea for intercession for God's divine graces. This is an easy prayer to teach your children and one that they can be encouraged to say especially if they are feeling anxious or upset about something. I know I always feel better after praying this beautiful prayer. I hope you will include it in your devotions to the Blessed Mother sometime soon.
We love to have special little places for Mary all around the house in May. Here's one we set up for her today as there is an abundance of these gorgeous Harebells popping up everywhere around us right now, they were the flower of choice!
This is our china hutch, it's perfect for displaying all our mini-Mary's and being able to see them during all our special times we share around the kitchen table. I see St. Patrick and the Infant of Prague have made an appearance as well, yippee!!

We couldn't resist these adorable straw flowers featured at Preschool Daze. Originally seen on the Crafty Crow. They make the perfect medium for enjoying a delicious and fruity Blueberry Smoothie (a staple in our Marian celebrations) while listening to today's readings from Magnificat! We are especially enjoying the weekly May Blessings for Marian graces included in this month's edition:

Blueberry Smoothies ~ Blend until desired smooth consistency: 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries or strawberries, 2 cups nonfat milk, 1 cup nonfat (or low fat) vanilla yogurt! YUM! Don't forget the straws :)

I know it's now the 7h of May, but as we did something for Mary most of the days of May last year, I couldn't let this Merry Month of May slip by without sharing something special for her each day in May (or what's left of it)!
There are many ideas in my book for celebrating Mary throughout the year and specifically an appendix for the Merry Month of May. So, as a special gift to all my wonderful visitors and for the many special people who attended the NW Catholic Family Education Conference last weekend there is a free download for you for the month of May!
Today was rainy, VERY rainy, so we decided to sing a few hymns and have a little sweet treat in honor of Our Lady. Violet recently made a sculpey crown for our mantelpiece Mary, it's very delicate!
There were also many sightings of these beautiful little surprises by unsuspecting recipients and I will say that the doorbell rang just a few times and there was nobody there ;-)
